EOI - Administrative Officer - Mundingburra State School

Expressions of interest are invited for the position of Administrative Officer to join Mundingburra State School. We are looking to recruit an Administration Officer who will work well in our team, to support the business operations across the school.
The Administrative Officer will assist with front office administration,
school events, and student related functions within the school. This role requires the ability to demonstrate high level administrative skills working within a team environment to ensure the efficient and effective running of the school.
This role is offered on a temporary part-time basis at 0.80 FTE and 60 Hours per
fortnight, until 27 June 2025 unless otherwise determined.

About Mundingburra State School
Our school caters for children from prep to year 6. As a staff we are immensely proud of the standard of education we provide our students. All students explore the current Australian Curriculum subjects of english, maths, history, geography and science and other Queensland subjects such as technology, the arts, health and physical education and Languages other than English (LOTE) is French. There is a strong focus on literacy delivered through our school's reading and spelling programs. Dance and drama lessons are also a feature of our curriculum with tuition provided by professional community teachers. Our 'Performing arts instrumental music' program is also a highlight of our school with an excellent standard produced by our students in various competitions, events and performances.
We also offer extra-curricular activities such as science mates, music mates, robotics. We participate in some of the Townsville primary schools season sport programs, the Townsville Eisteddfod and Fan Fare. As a school that has a long association with defence force families with a defence support transition aide working with our students, we are always involved in special community events such as ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day. We also celebrate NAIDOC Week and acknowledge the rich cultural diversity of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families in our school.
About the Role
As Administration Officer, you will:
- Perform a variety of day to day administrative and support services that are routine in nature and directed by the Principal or the Business Manager.
- Undertake routine activities including reception (telephone and counter enquiries), arranging appointments, correspondence and general administration, maintaining school records, such as incident reports, student admissions, enrolments and departures, processing incoming and outgoing mail and email, and once approved, ordering and arranging student transport for sport excursions, trips and other school activities.
- Perform a variety of other administrative or support services for school staff.
- Assist with organising school functions and events.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. school and departmental staff, parents, students, and community members); provides information and advice in line with school policies and/or Principal directives; and demonstrates empathy, emotional understanding and support.
- Apply day to day independence in determining work schedules and sequences within a well-defined environment with regular managerial supervision.
