EOI - Head of Department - Various Positions, Temporary Relieving Pool 2025 - North Queensland Region

This continuous applicant pool is open for candidates interested in employment opportunities as a Head of Department - Student Services/Secondary/Student Engagement/Curriculum (primary, secondary and Special schools) within the North Queensland Region and meet the mandatory employment requirements as detailed in the attached role description. This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months. 

When considered appropriate, and for longer term vacancies, the region may also elect to progress a separate EOI or temporary advertisement, which will be available through 
Smart Jobs. Requests for relocation expenses/incentives may be discussed with suitable applicants on an individual, case by case basis in alignment with relevant directives.

The region may utilise this EOI pool for short term vacancies of up to 1 week to 6 months.

About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
