Expressions of Interest are invited for this temporary full-time position available from 14 July 2025 until 12 December 2025. Any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Weir State School is a small rural school that has grown with the development of the city of Townsville.

About the Role

** All applicants are required to indicate that if their EOI is successful, they have the support of their Supervisor for their release.

As the Deputy Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students, develop the quality of teaching and learning across the school,
  • Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders, particularly those of First Nations heritage.

  2. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships
    within and beyond the school community.
  3. Demonstrates strong understanding of the culture, traditions and learning attributes of those students who
    are connected to First Nations heritage
  • Attach a copy of your mandatory qualifications/registration outlined in the attached role description OR
    Attach evidence of the mandatory requirements outlined in the attached role description.
