About the Role:
The appointee will work closely with senior officers and be able to proactively manage operational work and strategic considerations. We're looking for an engaging and dynamic contributor to promote engagement in operational and strategic financial perspectives.
The role requires experience in regular and timely budget monitoring, forecasting and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of financial management of various operational teams, ensuring compliance with financial internal controls.
Contemporary knowledge of strategic and operational HR practices would be highly regarded. General governance skillsets and experience within state government (or comparable) agencies would be an advantage.

Responsibilities Include:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the regional office, ensuring efficiency in office procedures and systems, priorities are met, deadlines achieved and the office functions effectively.
- Monitor and report on corporate compliance and budget performance of the region and actively participate in the development of business plans and budget submissions in consultation with senior officers and other staff.
- Provide advice to senior officers and other staff in relation to current and emerging corporate governance and organisational issues which impact on the effectiveness, quality of service delivery and the achievement of outcomes of region.
- Ensure currency and working knowledge of the relevant acts, and procedures, pertinent accounting standards and business practices and policies for funding and appropriation administration.
- Monitor the region's human resource function and advise senior officers and other staff on human resource issues, including recruitment and selection processes, review of role descriptions and selection reports and assisting selection panels.
- Ensure currency and working knowledge of Acts and Awards and human resources related whole of government directives and departmental policies and procedures.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure the effective management, and maintenance of site facilities and resources including fleet, to ensure effective management and use of available resources.
- Coordinate the development, implementation, operation and continuous improvement of the region's systems, corporate policies and procedures related to purchasing, asset management systems, financial systems and reporting, human resource management and administration systems.
- Organise or conduct training, forums and information sessions for staff within the region on corporate governance issues.
- Undertake analysis and research and prepare complex reports, submissions, briefing notes and corporate correspondence on a range of corporate governance issues, including divisional financial and non-financial performance and trend analysis.
