About the School 

Charters Towers School of Distance Education provides personalised learning for students from Prep to Year 12 through a comprehensive distance education program. Learning is delivered via digital platforms, with curriculum tailored to individual student needs. We support progress through regular feedback, flexible pathways, and a wide range of resources including books, software, and online content. Students engage in workshops, excursions, and school visits, gaining experiences beyond their home environment. We also offer training and support for parents, home tutors, and partner schools, ensuring a connected and enriching educational experience for every learner.

About the Role  

As the Administration Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the school through a range of corporate services. This may include responsibilities across human resources, finance, and facilities management, or a focused area within these functions. You will contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the school by assisting with the delivery of high-quality administrative support and helping identify opportunities for process improvement. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and committed to supporting a positive and professional school environment. 

Your Responsibilities 

As the Administration Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Accounts receivable and payable tasks within the school
  • Responsibility for corporate card reconciliation
  • Fleet management of school resources
  • Switchboard and reception duties throughout the school
  • Using and maintaining data through OneSchool and Agresso (experience with these applications is highly advantageous but not mandatory)
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent digital literacy
  • Demonstrated ability with accounting software programs
