About the Role  

As the Head of Department, you will lead initiatives to improve educational outcomes for students and enhance the quality of teaching and learning within the school. In this leadership role, you will foster positive and collaborative relationships with students, staff, the community, and key stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include leading curriculum focus areas aligned with school and departmental priorities, contributing to the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division, and supporting professional growth among teaching staff. Your work will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement and supporting a culture of high expectations and student success. 

Your Responsibilities 

As the Head of Department - Mathematics/Science -, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
