Collinsville State High School is seeking an innovative and motivated Head of Department - Curriculum to join our school leadership team. As the Head of Department - Curriculum you will, lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives, participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division, develop the quality of teaching and learning, and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

About Us:

Collinsville State High School is the smallest stand-alone state high school in Queensland. The school services the Collinsville township and the surrounding rural area. Established in 1986, it provides education to a diverse range of students, from both town and rural-based backgrounds. Located in the northern region of the Bowen Basin, local industry is largely based on coal mining. The school size and enrolment resultantly fluctuates in line with the fortunes of the mining industry.

Our school motto, 'Nolite Dedere' means 'never surrender', ‘never give in', ‘never give up' and we pride ourselves on aspiring to do this daily. At Collinsville State High School we are committed to striving for excellence in all spheres of education and improving student achievement through high expectations, focused teaching and maximising time on engaged learning.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead and Inspire Learning: Drive curriculum and whole-school programs to achieve a shared educational vision focused on quality outcomes for all students.
  • Promote Equity and Excellence: Embed socially just practices and set high standards for both student achievement and staff performance.
  • Engage in Continuous Growth: Model lifelong learning through active participation in ongoing professional and personal development.
  • Build Strong Partnerships: Collaborate effectively with students, parents, staff, community organisations, and government agencies.
  • Lead Strategically and Responsibly: Apply legislative and policy knowledge to strategically manage human, financial, facility, and curriculum resources for future-focused school success.
