This is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.
This continuous applicant pool is open for candidates interested in employment opportunities as a Deputy Principal (primary and secondary) within the North Queensland Region and meet the mandatory employment requirements as detailed in the attached role descriptions. It is recommended that prospective applicants for this advertisement discuss with their current supervisor support for the application and capacity to release.
Applications may be reviewed and considered throughout 2025, if and when Deputy Principal vacancies within the North Queensland Region are identified. The submission of an application to this applicant pool does not guarantee an offer of employment or an application assessment response from the region. The positions may range in duration up to a school semester.
The region may utilise this EOI pool for short term vacancies of up to 1 week to 6 months.
When considered appropriate, and for longer term vacancies, the region may also elect to progress a separate EOI or temporary advertisement, which will be available through Smart Jobs. Requests for relocation expenses/incentives may be discussed with suitable applicants on an individual, case by case basis in alignment with relevant directives.
Your role
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
