Are you passionate about helping young people move from school into training or employment? Queensland Pathways State College, Townsville Campus, is seeking an Industry and Vocational Training Officer to build strong connections between students, industry and training providers. This role plays a key part in supporting School-Based Apprenticeships, Traineeships and work-readiness pathways for students facing barriers to mainstream education helping them achieve meaningful post-school outcomes. This is a temporary part-time position (0.5 FTE) until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About Us:
Queensland Pathways State College Queensland Pathways State College provides a senior transitions program for students in Years 10 to 12 who face barriers to mainstream schooling. The college focuses on student wellbeing, vocational development and strong community and industry partnerships to support successful pathways into training or employment.
About the Role:
Based at the Townsville Campus, the Industry and Vocational Training Officer works closely with students, school leadership, employers and training providers. The role supports vocational pathways, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, work readiness programs and student engagement.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with business and industry to source School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship opportunities and facilitate meaningful student workplace placements.
- Promote and market School Based Apprenticeships, Traineeships, TAFE training, and post-school pathway options through targeted engagement activities for students and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage the work experience and placement programs, including student monitoring, workplace visits, record keeping, and compliance with departmental policy and legislation.
- Support student engagement and success through classroom assistance, one-on-one and small group learning, wellbeing support, and work-readiness programs.
- Provide regular program updates to school leadership, support student recruitment and enrolment processes, deliver high-level client service to partners, and maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and requirements.
