About the School:

Healy State School is a public primary school (Prep-6) located in the southern suburb of Healy in Mount Isa, Queensland, offering education with a strong focus on high expectations for student learning and behaviour. Opened in 1972, it is a multicultural school with a diverse student population.

Staff in Healy State School work with an intent to provide a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment for all students. Teachers are focused on educational achievement and belonging and engagement ensuring positive experiences and learning outcomes for the students in their care with an expectation that all students will learn successfully.

About the role:

As the Principal you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Leading the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Upholding the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
