Business Manager - Burdekin School

Burdekin School is seeking a highly organised and solutions-focused Business Manager to join our team in a part-time job share arrangement. Working alongside the substantive Business Manager, this role supports the effective day-to-day operations of the school across finance, human resources, administration and facilities.
You will work closely with the Principal and leadership team to ensure efficient systems, strong financial management, and high-quality administrative support.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.4FTE), 29 hours per fortnight.

Who We Are:
Burdekin School is a State special school catering to students from Prep to Year 12, requiring highly individualised curriculum and support services.
The school also has an Early Childhood Developmental Program which provides early intervention services for children not yet of school age who require developmental support.
Our staff specialise in providing learning environments for students with a range of intellectual and multiple disabilities.

The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, and confidence working within departmental policies and systems (including OneSchool)
Responsibilities include:
- Operate autonomously to undertake day to day office procedures within well-defined policies (e.g. reception, arranging appointments, correspondence, maintaining school records and general administration); and utilise information and management systems (e.g. OneSchool) to support effective and efficient reporting and administration.
- Undertake the day to day supervision and management of school support staff, including monitoring workloads and performance (working in collaboration with the Principal for any difficult performance management situations); identifying workforce capability requirements; and role modelling performance standards.
- Oversee the signatories/approval of timesheets, leave applications, rosters, and arrange relief for school support staff; and organise, undertake and coordinate the recruitment, induction and training of school support staff.
