About the Role:

The Head of Student Education Services role at Doomadgee State School is a key leadership position focused on supporting student wellbeing, inclusion, engagement and learning success within a remote Prep-Year 10 setting. The school's vision is to empower students towards “a Life of Choice” through culturally responsive, supportive and context-rich educational experiences.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Leading whole-school wellbeing, inclusion and student support processes
  • Supporting students with diverse learning and behavioural needs
  • Coordinating case management, intervention strategies and support programs
  • Working collaboratively with teachers to strengthen inclusive classroom practices
  • Liaising with families, community agencies and regional support services
  • Supporting attendance, engagement and positive behaviour initiatives
  • Ensuring adjustments and support align with departmental policies and student needs
  • Contributing to whole-school improvement priorities and professional learning

The role would suit an experienced educator with strong relational and leadership skills, experience in inclusive education and student support, and a commitment to working in a rural and remote Indigenous community setting. Remote area incentives and professional growth opportunities are commonly associated with leadership positions in North Queensland remote schools.
