An exciting opportunity exists to join the Education Services Team in the North Queensland Region, as a Principal Advisor, Education Services. The team provides direct support and advice to school leaders across a broad range of areas, including policy and procedure, school planning and system assurance.

About the Department of Education:

The Department of Education is committed to delivering responsive services for Queensland students and communities. Through collaboration, innovation and evidence-based practice, the department supports schools to ensure every student can realise their potential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide high-level strategic advice and support to senior officers on the implementation of policy initiatives and system priorities.
  • Lead and manage projects, programs and initiatives that enhance education service delivery across schools within the region.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and collaboration channels with schools, regional teams and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor, analyse and evaluate regional and school performance data to inform planning, reporting and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Prepare high-level briefings, reports, submissions and implementation plans to support informed decision-making and service delivery outcomes.

About You:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse groups.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data and evidence to inform. decision-making.
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex environments, balancing competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.
