Mount Isa School of the Air is a co-educational Prep to Year 10 distance education school supporting approximately 160 students across a vast and remote region of North West Queensland, from the Gulf of Carpentaria to Birdsville and beyond.
The school delivers high-quality teaching aligned to the Australian Curriculum, with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, digital learning, and student wellbeing. About the Role:
As the Principal you will have responsibility for the following:
- Leading the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Upholding the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies impacting on schooling.
- Manage resources to achieve goals.
