Spinifex State College are seeking 2 skilled, committed and enthusiastic Teacher Aides to join our Junior Campus Special Education Program team. The successful applicants must be capable of providing quality learning support to staff and students. These positions are being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.79FTE each), 60 hours per fortnight (negotiable).

About our School:

Spinifex State College Junior Campus is a Mount Isa secondary school for students in grade 7-9. We have a student population of approximately 500 students from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures. Our school aims to develop clever, skilled and creative learners. To achieve this aim, we provide students with access to quality curriculum programs and learning opportunities. We also inspire our students to explore their passions, harness their unique talents and fulfil their potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating effectively and displaying a high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
  • Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families.
  • Displaying respect and empath for students with high level needs.
  • Assisting in the supervision of education activities under the direction of a teacher.
  • Assisting teaching staff with playground and bus supervisions.
  • Assisting students with special needs.
  • Support for teachers in providing learning materials and working with small grounds as well as individual students
