About our School:

Our school was the first Distance Education school to open in Queensland in 1987 and still leads in the use of technology to enable communication with our students and their tutors. We use traditional means of communication like mail and telephone as well as audio-teleconferencing, video, and the Internet to cross the barriers of distance and create the bonds of a school community. About the Role:

This role works under the direction of the Head of Digital Technology and Innovation, with oversight from the Principal, to support online course creation and the development of digital learning materials that facilitate the asynchronous delivery of curriculum.

The role contributes to the design and publishing of engaging, accessible and user-focused resources to support students learning within a distance education environment, while also developing resources for partners in learning to build their knowledge and capability in supporting students who are learning from home to achieve the best possible educational outcomes.

About you:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to compliance with relevant procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and develop user-focused resources that consider diverse learning needs and a range of audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience using a range of software programs and digital platforms, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
  • Experience or knowledge in the digital production and publishing of online learning resources.
  • Awareness of educational contexts and online learning management systems used to support teaching and learning.
  • Ability to design and present materials with consideration for the end user experience, including an understanding of how students and diverse learners may interact with and interpret content.
