We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to join our school community. About our School:
Our school is an Independent Public Primary School. We are enrolment managed and currently have 514 students, from prep to year 6. Our belief statement, "Our students are worth whatever it takes," epitomises the strength of the community. The Oonoonba State School community works together to ensure a great school. It is a school steeped in history despite a new school being built in 2002 on its current site in the middle of a newly developed estate called Fairfield Waters. We are very proud of our school.
About the Role:
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance school grounds, gardens, sporting facilities, and outdoor areas.
- Coordinate routine maintenance, minor repairs, and facility upkeep, including equipment and school assets.
- Support school operations through event set-up, stock management, deliveries, and general facilities services.
- Monitor and maintain security systems, building access, and site safety.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and safe equipment operation.
- Liaise with school staff, contractors, and suppliers to support maintenance and improvement projects.
- Manage grounds equipment, landscaping activities, and the upkeep of ovals, gardens, and recreational spaces.
- Contribute to creating a safe, functional, and well-presented environment for students, staff, and visitors.
