Senior Advisor, Public Interest Disclosures

In this role you will design, develop and undertake a range of activities and projects that support the QOs role of oversight agency for the Public Interest Disclosure (PID) Act. A key part of this role is providing expert advice to public sector agencies about their responsibilities under the PID Act and Standards. This includes providing feedback to agencies on their PID policies and procedures. Other work includes developing information materials and resources about PID management, developing and delivering training to promote compliance with the PID Act and Standards and research activities to support PID oversight functions.

As the Senior Advisor, PID you will:
- Provide expert advice to public sector agencies about their responsibilities under the PID Act and Standards, including guidance on assessment and management of PIDs.
- Research and write information resources for a diverse range of audiences about the PID Act and Standards.
- Develop and deliver training and education programs to promote compliance with the PID Act and Standards, including training for designated PID officers as well as awareness sessions for other audiences, including experience in virtual training and engagement.
- Contribute to the management of information about reported PIDs, including database administration and quality assurance, data analysis to identify and monitor trends and preparation of internal and external reporting.
- Undertake review and research activities to support the PID oversight function.
You will be expected to:

This position has relevant operational delegations.

Technical expertise: Knowledge of public administration, complaints management and relevant legislation, with a demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of legislation, specifically the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 (Qld). Relevant expertise and experience in developing and delivering information products and training, including experience or knowledge of online/virtual training platforms. You must have excellent interpersonal, liaison and communication skills, including the capacity to provide timely verbal and written general advice.
