The Department of General and Geriatric Medicine are looking for several Staff Specialists to join their team. These roles provide specialist General Medicine clinical care to patients and assume overall responsibility for patient care.

About the Role

Services provided include:

• Provides specialist services at Metro South Hospital and Health Service,
• Provides inpatient care, including participating in the on-call roster
• Provides inpatient consultations as requested
• Provides outpatient consultations
• Participates in multidisciplinary clinics and meetings
• Provides education to medical staff and students, allied health, nursing staff and interested community groups
• Active participation in patient safety, audit, research and service planning activities
• Adapt to new roles and responsibilities according to the needs of the Department

 Your key responsibilities

• These roles report to the Director of General Medicine.
• These positions fulfil accountabilities and responsibilities in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives.
• Foster a culture of interprofessional collaboration and leadership through understanding the role and the roles of others in the interprofessional team leveraging this knowledge to establish and meet client goals and inform service direction.
