The Executive Director of Medical Services (EDMS) is looking for a Deputy Executive Director of Medical Services to perform a central role in ensuring that services at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) are provided ethically, efficiently and to the highest professional standards. As a team of two Deputies, each with their own portfolio, they provide medical leadership at the PAH, as well as supporting and representing the EDMS as required.

Your key responsibilities
- The role will report directly to the EDMS at the PAH and will have two direct reports; Manager of Patient Safety and Quality and the Clinical Trials Governance Manager
- Act as the expert resource for clinical leaders and executives in resolving complex, clinical, medicolegal, ethical, and operational challenges
- Promote and monitor quality and safety of service delivery
- Lead and engage with stakeholders from across the health service including consumers, clinicians, staff and pertner organisations to champion safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Oversee the governance structures and processes around research and development activity
- Lead and contribute to the development of planning and reporting frameworks that ensure clinical and corporate governance requirements are met
- Work with a multi-disciplinary tema to ensure adequate patient flow and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient flow processes
- Provide medical leadership and expertise in development, use and interpretation of clinical information systems to imporve delivery of medical care
