About the Role
- The Fellowship in Stroke Medicine provides for sub-specialty training in hyperacute stroke management, as well as subacute and long-term stroke medicine.
- The Fellow oversees the day-to-day operation of the Stroke unit and provides medical services to all patients presenting to the hospital, both inpatient and outpatient services within the designated stroke unit.
- On request, the Fellow should provide a consultative service to other departments.
- It is expected that the Fellow will be involved in the professional development of junior medical staff, clinical audits, research and in the education of medical students.
- The Fellow will engage in supporting the research trial activity of the Stroke Unit including patient selection and follow up requirements.
- The Fellow will engage in auditing and research activity within the Stroke Unit
- Contribute to and gain experience in the after-hours on call roster for hyperacute stroke at a minimum of 1 night per week.
