Fellow Cardiology (Interventional)

The Cardiology Unit are looking for Fellow in Interventional Cardiology to join their team. The Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology provides for sub-specialty training in percutaneous coronary intervention. Training includes involvement in a high volume acute infarct angioplasty/STEMI service in addition to CHIP/CTO intervention, mechanical rotational atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy, and adjunctive modalities including IVUS/OCT/FFR/iFR).

About the Role
There is some exposure to structural heart disease procedures (TAVR, TMVRr and ASD/PFO closure programs) however the primary focus of the position for first year Fellow's is on attaining competency in percutaneous coronary intervention. In some years however there may be a separate Structural Heart Disease Fellow.
The following position reports to the Director of Cardiology Department
- Fulfil the accountabilities and responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives, as outlined below.
- Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
- Commit to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by actively participating in safety and quality practices.
- Provide clinical care to patients and clinically manage, on a day-to-day basis, the associated multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care.
