The Haematology Unit (Clinical & Laboratory) are looking for several Staff Specialists to join their team. The Haematology unit is seeking to appoint clinical and / or laboratory Staff Specialists to temporarily vacant positions. Joint or individual appointments to clinical and/or laboratory roles will be considered in conjunction with the needs of the department.

About the Role

There are several temporary part-time clinical and laboratory positions. Available immediately, for an initial period of 6 months: 0.4 lab and 0.1 clinical; and available before the end of 2025 a further fractional total of 1.4 clinical FTE for an initial period of 3 months. All positions may be extended. Minimum laboratory appointments are 0.2 FTE (including any current appointment); minimum clinical appointments are 0.1 FTE.

Clinical role:

This role provides specialist Haematology clinical care to patients and assumes overall responsibility for patient care. 

Services include

• Provides specialist services at Metro South Hospital and Health Service, which includes other facilities located across Metro South Health including satellite clinics.
• Provides inpatient care, including participating in the on-call roster

Laboratory role:

• Provides specialist laboratory haematology expertise (laboratory reporting of films, marrows, flow cytometry, quality improvement activities)
