Research Hepatology Fellow

The Hepatology Unit are looking for a part time Research Fellow in Hepatology to join their team. Provision of services with focus on patients with chronic liver disease. The 0.4 FTE QLD Health position will consist of outpatient care responsibilities (see below) There is potential to increase the 0.4 FTE by 0.1 FTE for clinical research responsibilities which include (but are not limited to) working closely with a clinical nurse/trial coordinator to recruit patients for clinical studies, collection and review of relevant clinical data. This position with QLD Health will be held jointly with a 0.5FTE clinical research position at QIMRB.

About the Role
Fulfil the accountabilities and responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives, as outlined below.
- To provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organizational goals.
- Provide outpatient care by assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigations.
- Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant.
- Communicate assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers and seek consent.
- Gather input from appropriate multidisciplinary team for patient's ongoing clinical care.
- Continually monitor and review patient progress and adjust the management plan when necessary.
- Ensure appropriate and timely communication to the General Practitioner, other health care providers and carers to ensure ongoing patient care.
