Join us in a key role where your administrative skills and passion for community engagement will truly make a difference. Parliamentary Services is seeking a committed Electorate Officer to assist The Hon Amanda Stoker MP for Oodgeroo and actively connect with the dynamic community at the Oodgeroo Electorate Office located in Cleveland.

Your primary objective will be to:

  • Provide direct administrative, executive, and media management support to the Minister;
  • Support and engage with constituents and community groups;
  • Liaise with Government departments and other organisations, prepare and coordinate correspondence; and
  • Manage the daily operations of the Electorate Office.

Applicants should possess the following skills and experience:

Essential

  • Strong office administration and IT skills (including social media).
  • Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and schedule work to ensure the completion of tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with complex and difficult situations and matters.
  • Highly developed research and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise initiative and work as part of a team.

Desirable

  • A good understanding of local issues.
  • Knowledge of Government and Parliamentary procedures.
