Are you a passionate audio-visual professional with a knack for troubleshooting and a flair for ensuring smooth live on-air operations? The Queensland Parliamentary Service is seeking a dynamic AV Services Coordinator ready to bring technical expertise and innovative solutions to an environment where precision and performance are paramount.

About Us:

The Parliamentary Service provides a range of procedural, administrative and support services to Members of Parliament and Parliamentary Service employees. The IT Service Area is located within the Information Services Division and consists of three teams: Portfolio, Policy and Architecture Team, Program and Solutions Development and Delivery Team and IT Operations Team. You will be part of the IT Operations Team, which provides IT support to the Parliamentary Service.

About the role:

  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Utilize your extensive knowledge in supporting audiovisual systems within a complex broadcast environment.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Forge and sustain positive relationships with key internal stakeholders and AV vendors using your excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative approach.
  • On-Call & After-Hours Support: You may be required to be part of a rotational “On Call” roster for parliamentary sitting weeks (up to 15 weeks per year) and provide after-hours AV support and support external functions out-of-hours. Regional travel within Queensland to support remote committee hearings is also a potential component of this role.

In this role You will:

  • Be the most senior AV specialist in the organisation coordinating all aspects of the Queensland Parliament's audio visual environment.
  • Oversee live broadcasts and parliamentary events, ensuring operational excellence and safety compliance including Opening of Parliament, regular Parliamentary Sittings, Committee Hearings (on-precinct and remote) and, from time-to-time, a Regional Sitting.
  • Provide hands-on AV support, from equipment setup and testing to live troubleshooting and operation.
  • Facilitate video conferencing for committees and manage vendor relationships to maintain service standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate AV requirements and allocate necessary IT resources.
  • Develop and maintain essential AV documentation, archives, and perform other associated duties.

Your Qualifications and Skills:

Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or demonstrated equivalent professional experience is highly desirable.  Industry certifications relevant in AV technologies and operating environments will be highly regarded, for example Dante and/or QSC certifications.
