Take on a key position where your administrative skills and passion for community engagement can truly make a difference! We are seeking a dedicated Electorate Officer to support Mr. Rob Molhoek Member for Southport and engage with our vibrant community!

Your primary objectives will be to:

  • Provide direct administrative and executive support to the Member;
  • Support and engage with constituents and community groups;
  • Liaise with Government departments and other organisations;
  • Prepare and coordinate correspondence; and
  • Manage the daily operations of the Electorate Office.

 Your duties and responsibilities as an Electorate Officer will see you provide:

Community Engagement: Handling enquiries from constituents and community organisations; providing information on public services; researching issues and representing the Member at local events.

Office Management: Overseeing daily operations of the Electorate Office; leading a small team and driving performance through clear direction, training and support.

Budget and Records: Managing the office budget in line with Parliamentary Service guidelines; maintaining accurate financial and administrative records.

Event Coordination: Planning and delivering electorate events, meetings and forums; coordinating logistics, invitations, materials and post-event follow-up.

Travel Coordination: Organising travel, submitting travel claims, and maintaining accurate records of expenses.

Your key strengths will be:

  • Previous experience in a parliamentary or local government office is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse groups.
  • Good knowledge of Queensland political and current affairs or willingness to learn.
