Join the Queensland Parliamentary Service as a Senior End-User Computing Engineer and play a key role in delivering secure, high-performing technology services to Members of Parliament and staff across Queensland. Based in the IT Operations team, you will lead the development and maintenance of our Windows 11 Standard Operating Environment, manage enterprise-scale deployments, and provide expert-level support across a geographically dispersed network. You will provide on-call support during Parliamentary Sitting Weeks (up to 15 weeks a year) via an On-Call schedule. This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the digital backbone of Queensland’s democratic process.

The IT Operations team at the Queensland Parliamentary Service is seeking a driven and experienced Senior End-User Computing Engineer. In this key role, you'll take ownership of our Windows Standard Operating Environment (SOE), lead large-scale deployments across a statewide network, and deliver expert support that ensures a secure, consistent, and high-performing experience for Members and staff.

About the IT Service Area

Located within the Strategy, Policy and Planning Division, our IT Service Area comprises three dynamic teams:

  • ICT Categories and Contracts
  • Enterprise Architecture and Program Delivery
  • IT Operations

This role is a permanent appointment and sits within the IT Operations team, responsible for delivering high-quality, secure, and responsive end-user computing services that underpin the operations of Parliament.

About your new role

As the Senior End-User Computing Engineer, you will:

  • Maintain and enhance Windows 11 SOE using Intune and automation tools.
  • Implement ACSC Essential Eight controls and respond to cyber incidents.
  • Lead statewide device rollouts with zero-touch provisioning.
  • Provide Level 3 support, mentor staff, and build knowledge resources.
  • Package and deploy apps and patches via Intune and scripting.
  • Deliver desktop support aligned with SLAs and minimise downtime.
  • Manage vendor relationships, RMAs, and SLA performance.
  • Maintain asset records and contribute to ServiceNow documentation.
  • Improve processes through automation and SOP updates.

What we're looking for

We're seeking a technically skilled and client-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys solving complex problems. You'll bring deep expertise in endpoint management and a passion for continuous improvement.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • Proven experience in Windows 10/11 SOE development and enterprise deployments using Intune.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure, and scripting (PowerShell, VBScript).
  • Familiarity with ACSC Essential Eight and a commitment to cybersecurity best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to mentor and uplift team capability.

Your Qualifications

The following is highly desirable:

  • A degree and/or recognised qualifications in ICT or a related discipline.
  • Certifications in project management, agile or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • ITIL certification and Microsoft certifications related to SOE and Intune management.
