This role contributes to the Member’s communication priorities, manages social media activity, assists with media responses, and builds strong relationships with constituents and community organisations. Parliamentary Services is seeking a professional, organised and community‑minded Assistant Electorate Officer to join Ms Janelle Poole, Member for Mundingburra. This role supports the Member and Electorate Officer in delivering services to constituents, engaging with local organisations, and assisting with the daily operations of a busy electorate office.
This is a temporary opportunity until March 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Key Objectives
•Working closely with the Member for media, marketing, community engagement and social media opportunities.
• Provide exceptional executive and administrative support.
• Foster strong relationships by supporting and engaging with constituents and community groups.
• General administration and working with the team on driven results.
• Contribute to media requests and responses as directed by the Electorate Officer and the Member.
• Handle media responsibilities, including a vibrant social media presence.
Your Role
•Engage with media, community groups and stakeholders to support the Member's communication and community engagement priorities.
• Provide administrative support including correspondence, research, data entry and record keeping.
• Help prepare briefing materials, community information and maintain office systems.
• Monitor local issues through community interactions, media and networks to support the Member's awareness.
• Respond to constituent enquiries via phone, email and in person, offering information, referrals and support.
• Maintain positive relationships with community organisations, government agencies and local stakeholders.
• Support community engagement activities including events, newsletters, surveys and correspondence.
• Manage and contribute to the Member's social media presence and digital engagement activities.
• Provide general office support including filing, ordering supplies, maintaining documentation and assisting with security and office procedures.
• Support the Electorate Officer and supervise volunteers when required.

• Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
• Good literacy, computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
