Your new team
The People & Culture team at Queensland Parliamentary Service sits within the Strategy, Policy and Planning Division and plays a vital role in supporting the Parliamentary Service, its committees, and 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly. Operating within a complex and highly diverse environment with staff across the parliamentary precinct and 97 electorate offices, the team provides high quality HR advice, builds organisational capability, and supports strong workforce management practices.
As the team continues to strengthen its strategic impact, you'll join an experienced group committed to delivering excellent customer service, fair and ethical practice, and continuous improvement in all people‑related matters.
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a full‑time permanent Principal Advisor, Workforce. In this role, you will lead organisation‑wide recruitment, workforce initiatives, drive strategic workforce planning, oversee key talent and capability frameworks, and design people‑focused programs that uplift culture, employee experience, and organisational performance.
Your new role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and implementation of the Parliamentary Service's workforce strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, industry trends and operational priorities
- Overseeing end‑to‑end recruitment, including graduate and entry programs, ensuring contemporary, data-informed attraction practices and an exceptional experience for candidates, employees and hiring managers
- Enhancing onboarding and induction processes to ensure they are consistent, engaging and fit for purpose.
- Leading the performance development cycle, providing strong governance, capability uplift and systems improvements.
- Drive analysis, coordination and project management of employee and client survey actions, ensuring insights translate into meaningful action
- Lead Diversity, Equity & Inclusion embedding practices, delivering RAP commitments, and driving capability uplift that supporting practical and meaningful outcomes for all employees and communities.
Your key strengths for success in this role
- Experience working in a P&C role within organisational development, project management or learning and development (essential).
- Strong organisational development expertise, with the ability to design, deliver and evaluate capability, culture and workforce initiatives.
- Demonstrated capability in end‑to‑end recruitment and talent management, including early‑career pipelines.
- Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex initiatives and use data to inform decision‑making.
- Sound knowledge of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practices, including cultural capability and commitments relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Previous working experience within the QLD public sector is desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications within HR or a related discipline is desirable.
