This is a dynamic, high‑impact role at the centre of community engagement, events and communications for the Member for Barron River. 

Working closely with the Member and the Electorate Officer, the role supports a consistent, positive and highly engaged presence across the electorate while ensuring the professional and efficient operation of the office. This position suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, community‑focused environment and enjoys combining hands‑on delivery with strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Outreach
Deliver community engagement activities, represent the office at events, build stakeholder relationships, conduct outreach (calls, surveys and follow‑ups), and identify emerging community issues.

Event Management
Plan and deliver the full event lifecycle for community and high‑profile events, managing logistics, ensuring high‑quality delivery, and capturing content to maximise media and digital engagement.

Schools, Clubs & Community Relationships
Strengthen relationships across schools, clubs and community organisations, coordinate the Member's participation in local events, develop partnership and sponsorship opportunities, and oversee the installation and presentation of signage and materials within the community.

Communications, Media & Digital Engagement
Manage and grow the Member's digital and media presence by creating, scheduling and publishing engaging content (including posts, reels, newsletters, photos and short‑form video), drafting media releases and briefing materials, coordinating interviews and local coverage, monitoring media and community sentiment, and delivering strategic communications through a rolling content calendar aligned with community priorities and the Member's objectives.

Constituent Engagement
Provide professional, empathetic and solutions‑focused support to constituents via high‑volume phone, email and in‑person enquiries. Maintain accurate CRM records, track issues to resolution and identify recurring themes.

Administration & Office Support
Provide administrative and secretarial support including diary coordination, correspondence and document preparation. Maintain records, databases and office systems, support reporting and data collection, ensure compliance with Parliamentary Service policies, manage workflows and approvals, and contribute to a high‑performing, supportive office culture.

You will bring:

  • Experience delivering events, stakeholder engagements or other complex activities requiring coordination and planning
  • Strong community engagement and relationship‑building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including digital and social media skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence, discretion and political awareness
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused and hands‑on approach
  • Ability to assist with event setup and pack‑down
