Are you a recent or soon‑to‑be graduate who wants to build a career in public service and make a genuine contribution to Queensland?

The Queensland Parliamentary Service Graduate Program offers a rare opportunity to work at the heart of Queensland's democracy while building a meaningful career. Over two years, you'll rotate across key areas of Parliament, gaining hands‑on experience, developing practical skills, and contributing to work that supports Members of Parliament and the community.

We welcome graduates from all disciplines who are curious, motivated and ready to learn in a supportive, diverse and values‑driven environment.

Key Objectives

  • Build a strong understanding of Queensland Parliament by contributing to high‑quality, impartial services that support parliamentary operations and Members of Parliament.
  • Develop practical skills and professional capability through structured rotations, meaningful work, and active participation in learning and development opportunities.
  • Apply fresh thinking, integrity and collaboration to improve processes, support teams, and contribute positively to a respectful and inclusive workplace.

Your Role

As a Graduate Parliamentary Service Officer, you will complete four engaging rotations across divisions including Assembly and Committee Services, Corporate and Electorate Services, Property and Facility Services, and Strategy, Policy and Planning.

You'll work on real projects, support day‑to‑day parliamentary functions, and develop broad capability across policy, operations and service delivery. Your rotations will be aligned with your interests, strengths and career goals wherever possible.

As a Graduate Parliamentary Service Officer, you may:

  • Assist with the preparation of documents, briefs, correspondence and reports to support parliamentary and internal activities
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to teams, committees or service areas during your rotations
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and contribute to timely, professional responses to enquiries
  • Use systems and processes to manage records, data and information accurately and confidentially
  • Contribute to improvement initiatives by identifying issues, testing ideas and sharing feedback

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for graduates who:

  • Have completed a bachelor's degree or higher within the last two years
  • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism and political neutrality
  • Value learning, collaboration and diverse perspectives
  • Are Australian citizens or have the right to work in Australia

How to Apply

Applicants should submit a current resume (maximum two pages) including academic history and two referees, and a one‑page statement explaining why working in the Parliamentary Service is right for you.

There are four graduate positions available.
