The Queensland Parliamentary Service is seeking an experienced property professional to join the team as a Lease Administrator.
This role is responsible for independently managing end-to-end lease administration activities for a large and diverse property portfolio across Queensland.
The Lease Administrator acts as the primary administrative contact for internal and external stakeholders and ensures lease obligations, critical dates and compliance requirements are effectively monitored and actioned.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end lease administration activities, including new leases, renewals, variations, rent reviews, reconciliations and terminations.
- Independently monitor, track and action critical dates and key lease obligations across the portfolio, escalating matters to the Lease Manager where commercial, legal or enforcement action is required.
- Act as the primary administrative contact for landlords on complex lease and invoicing matters, including disputed charges and compliance queries.
- Prepare documentation, schedules and reports to support internal audits, external reviews and compliance activities.
- Provide timely advice, analysis and recommendations on lease administration issues and portfolio risks.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including tenants, legal, finance and property services, to ensure reactive maintenance, capital works, governance, probity and audit requirements are met and to support continuous improvement in lease administration processes and systems.
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience in lease administration, contract management or property administration within a dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of commercial lease terms, including options, rent reviews, outgoings, incentives and other financial obligations.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgement, triage issues and resolve problems independently.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including landlords, tenants and corporate services, including in challenging situations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
