Queensand Parliament is seeking a motivated and detail‑focused Chamber and Procedural Services Support Officer to join the Table Office. This role provides high‑quality administrative and procedural support to the Clerk of the Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly, helping to ensure accurate records, effective chamber operations and the smooth processing of parliamentary business.

Key Objectives

  • Provide high‑quality administrative and procedural support to the Table Office.
  • Support accurate recording, publication and management of Assembly business.
  • Contribute to the effective conduct of proceedings of the Legislative Assembly.

Your Role

  • Undertake a broad range of administrative functions supporting the First Clerk Assistant and Table Office staff.
  • Apply high‑level word processing skills using Microsoft Office applications and Adobe software.
  • Collate, maintain and publish accurate statistics and procedural information relating to the work of the Assembly.
  • Assist with processing Questions on Notice and answers, maintaining databases and accurately summarising member questions.
  • Support the processing, registration, archiving and retrieval of tabled papers and parliamentary records.
  • Produce non‑complex procedural documentation and assist with updating procedural registers, precedents and bulletins.
  • Assist with research tasks and maintain legal deposit requirements with relevant libraries.
  • Respond professionally to inquiries from Members of Parliament, stakeholders and the public.
  • Support projects and perform additional duties consistent with the role's classification.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, databases and web publishing tools, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft correspondence and present statistical and procedural information to a high standard.
  • Experience assisting with research, analysis and preparation of clear, accurate written material.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including exercising discretion when handling confidential matters.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, Queensland parliamentary procedures and practices.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable but not essential.
