Ms Ariana Doolan, Member for Pumicestone, is seeking a motivated and communications-focused Assistant Electorate Officer to support the delivery of strategic marketing and communication initiatives. This dynamic role involves attending community events, developing engaging content, and enhancing visibility across a range of media and communication channels.

Key Objectives

  • Attend community events (including evenings and weekends) to capture content and support real-time and planned communications across multiple channels, including print, digital and social media.
  • Support the development of marketing and communications content that highlights key priorities, initiatives and community impact.
  • Contribute to building strong relationships with constituents, stakeholders and community groups both in person and online.
  • Provide general administrative support to the electorate office.

Your Role

  • Assist in delivering a strategic marketing and communications plan to promote key initiatives and priorities.
  • Act as a key point of contact for media enquiries and support stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Coordinate media and promotional opportunities, including proactive placements across various channels.
  • Draft and edit a range of communications materials, including media releases, newsletters, speeches, opinion pieces and campaign content.
  • Manage and update digital channels, including website and social media, ensuring content is timely, consistent and engaging.
  • Support the delivery of advertising and awareness campaigns across traditional and digital platforms.
  • Provide on-the-ground support at events, including coordination, promotion and communications.
  • Assist with constituent enquiries and correspondence.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the Member.

What We're Looking For

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends in line with event schedules.
  • Strong marketing and communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for different audiences.
  • Experience across content creation, digital communications, and/or media engagement.
  • Confidence using digital tools, with experience in social media, photography, videography or design highly regarded.
  • Highly professional, adaptable and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Queensland's parliamentary processes or political landscape is advantageous but not essential.
