Queensland Parliamentary Services is seeking a reliable and professional Housekeeper to join our team. In this important role, you will play a key part in maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene standards of the Parliament House precinct. Working under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, you will help ensure facilities remain clean, safe, and well-presented while contributing to an exceptional experience for building occupants and visitors.

This is a permanent part-time position, working Monday - Friday, 6am-6.30pm.

Key Objectives

• Deliver high-quality cleaning services in accordance with established schedules and standards.
• Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic facilities across internal and adjacent external areas.
• Support efficient housekeeping operations through proactive reporting and safe work practices.

Your Role

• Carry out cleaning duties as scheduled by the Housekeeping Manager.
• Clean internal and adjacent external areas, maintaining a high standard of presentation
• Perform kitchen cleaning duties, including appliances, dishes, counters, and storage areas.
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and frequently touched points such as doorknobs and taps.
• Clean and sanitise bathroom facilities and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Strip and make beds as required.
• Undertake floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and carpet cleaning.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
• Manage waste collection and disposal.
• Restock amenities and cleaning supplies as required.
• Report maintenance issues, equipment faults, and other concerns promptly.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and use cleaning products appropriately.

• Minimum three years' experience in a housekeeping, cleaning, or similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, equipment operation, and chemical handling.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Professional presentation, reliability, and punctuality.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and seek clarification when required.
• Commitment to workplace safety, confidentiality, and quality service delivery.
