Communicable Diseases Branch is looking for a Senior Program Officer to join the Blood Borne Viruses and Sexually Transmissible Infections Unit. In this role as part of the Engagement and Partnerships team you will support the development and implementation of processes and systems for functions across the Unit including system governance, planning, monitoring and reporting, stakeholder engagement, health promotion and commissioning of programs and services.

What you'll do

  • Support implementation of the Queensland sexual health system governance framework and implementation and monitoring of the suite of Queensland BBV/STI Plans 2030.
  • Provide secretariat support to the Sexual Health Departmental Advisory Committee and other governance or advisory groups as required.
  • Coordinate and compile high quality documentation including agenda papers, reports, submissions, plans, consultative documents and other communication tools on a broad range of issues and priorities to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • Undertake effective stakeholder engagement, partnership development and collaborative arrangements with internal and external stakeholders including sexual health services, other government agencies, public health units, clinical services, community-based organisations and non-government services.
  • Support the development and implementation of systems for monitoring, reviewing and reporting on implementation of actions and performance indicators in the suite of Queensland BBV/STI Plans 2030.

About you

We are searching for someone who has: 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in supporting the implementation of governance systems and processes including supporting the work of strategic, tactical and operational level advisory and other committees.
  • Ability to research policy or program issues of a complex nature and the capacity to provide accurate and timely advice to management in relation to these issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing work priorities to meet agreed deadlines andcommitments and achieve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships across Queensland's public health system.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team with a commitment to fostering a positive team culture and collective responsibility for outcomes.
