About the role
As the Principal Advisor, Office of the Chief Executive, you will operate at a strategic level, providing high-quality, evidence-based advice on complex policy, operational and reform matters. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Initiatives and working closely with the Public Trustee and CEO, Executive Leadership Team and senior stakeholders, you will drive strategic initiatives, develop executive communications and support transformational change across the organisation.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Conducting in-depth research and analysis to develop evidence-based positions on complex strategic and operational issues.
- Providing high-level advice and briefings to senior management, including the Public Trustee and the Reform Management Group (RMG).
- Designing, developing, and implementing high-impact strategic policies and programs to shape QPT's forward agenda.
- Preparing and reviewing reform papers, submissions, briefs, and correspondence on complex and sensitive issues, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and government priorities.
- Supporting governance, planning, performance, risk and reporting frameworks to enable informed decision-making and delivery of outcomes.

You are a trusted senior advisor with a proven ability to manage complex initiatives and provide high-level advice in a dynamic environment. You combine strategic thinking with strong judgement, influence and exceptional written communication skills.

- Demonstrated experience in strategic policy development, program management, and governance.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to address complex issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality executive communications.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, identify risks and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
