Join the Food & Beverage team at the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), one of Australia's leading cultural institutions. As Front of House Supervisor - Food and Beverage, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service across QAGOMA's cafés, bistros, and events. This hands-on leadership role supports the Gallery's vision to be Australia's most inspiring and welcoming gallery by ensuring every visitor enjoys a memorable dining experience. Key Duties
- Supervise daily operations across QAG Café, GOMA Bistro, satellite stations, and catered events.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service in line with standard operating procedures.
- Support event and outlet setup, resource allocation, and equipment presentation.
- Lead and train Front of House staff, providing guidance, feedback, and on-the-job development.
- Monitor team performance and contribute to a positive, professional work culture.
- Manage Point of Sale functions including transactions, reporting, wastage, and troubleshooting.
- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including kitchen teams, gallery staff, and clients.
- Uphold compliance with WHS, Liquor Licensing, Food Safety standards, and the Gallery's Code of Conduct.
About You
- Experienced in hospitality or event service supervision within fast-paced, customer-focused environments.
- Skilled in team leadership, with the ability to coach, develop and motivate others.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
- Proficient in managing service logistics, staff deployment, and customer service delivery.
- Effective communicator who can engage confidently with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Adaptable and solutions-focused, with a calm, composed approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrates respect, inclusion, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Holds a current RSA or RMLV (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).
