The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – Quality and Workforce will contribute to RSQ's strategic direction, imperatives, and actions. This role will collaboratively lead, govern and operationalise the nursing and midwifery retrieval coordination service delivery, as well as provide oversight and joint clinical governance for the Statewide Retrieval service.

The role will partner with key internal and external stakeholders including the Medical and Nursing Directors, ADON Education, ADON Telehealth, Director of Operations, Clinical Directors and aeromedical service providers, to integrate all aspects of retrieval and Telehealth service delivery, including development of operational plans, performance and development, oversight of and service model review in a multi-disciplinary environment.  

What you'll do

As the ADON, you will provide high-level contemporary leadership prioritising opportunities for innovation, including enhanced recruitment and retention of nurses and midwives, to ensure a professional and positive practice nursing workforce, that is fit for a complete and changing statewide service. You will contribute to budget integrity and fiscal management according to financial and HR delegations and effectively apply change management expertise. You will demonstrate advanced retrieval and quality improvement knowledge and skills applicable to working within a progressive aeromedical retrieval, telehealth and disaster management environment and provide networking to influence organisational services and professional outcomes.

About you

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • The highly desirable requirements for this role are:
      • A post graduate qualification at Graduate Diploma or Masters level in Nursing or Health Management.
      • Demonstrated extensive (> 2 years) experience providing nursing leadership within a HHS regional or tertiary facility, or within a complex Statewide service delivery.
      • Retrieval nursing experience.
