As an Early Career Strength and Conditioning Coach you will support categorised athletes alongside the QAS Strength & Conditioning team while also coordinating the day to day operation of the Recovery Centre, ensuring the facility operates smoothly in support of athlete recovery. This role is suited to an Early Career practitioner keen to develop their Strength & Conditioning skills and knowledge in a High Performance environment.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to providing evidence-based strength and conditioning support in line with Individual Athlete Performance Plans (IAPP) aligned with their What It Takes to Win (WITTW) framework.
  • Assist the Strength and Conditioning team in delivering specific and relevant performance testing and tracking/monitoring for QAS categorised athletes, providing timely feedback to the coaches, athletes and Performance Support team members.
  • Collect, store, and share athlete data/vision in the Athlete Management System (AMS) and other approved platforms in line with QAS expectations.
  • Develop high level skills in the application of agreed National Quality Assurance Standards relating to data collection, methods and equipment maintenance and utilise QAS approved systems for athlete programming, monitoring, reporting and data management.
  • Perform a variety of day-to-day administrative and operational tasks to ensure the effective functioning of the QAS Recovery Centre, including supervising athlete access to the wet therapy room and other facilities during designated shifts, whilst ensuring a safe, welcoming and professional environment.
  • Implement and monitor wet therapy protocols and facility standards, maintaining cleanliness, safety, and functionality while escalating issues to the appropriate QAS staff as required.
  • Record, monitor, and report on facility usage and athlete engagement, maintaining accurate data and communicating updates, incidents, and trends to relevant QAS staff.

Mandatory qualifications:

  • A degree qualification in sport and exercise science or agreed equivalent (minimum). 
  • ASCA Level 2 accreditation (minimum), or the ability to attain prior to commencement of contract. 
  • Sports Integrity Australia Antidoping Fundamentals & Annual Update
  • First Aid & CPR
