The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Principal Project Officer to join the External Assessment Implementation Unit. The External Assessment Implementation Unit is responsible for managing the marking, implementation and quality assurance of the senior external assessment program for Year 12 students.

What you will do

In the Principal Project Officer role, you will:

• liaise with Principal Education Officers, Learning Area Managers and external stakeholders to enact efficient marking operations, data collection and analysis, and marker intervention as required.

• lead teams responsible for quality-assurance processes to support state-wide implementation of external assessment.

• provide expert advice to stakeholders including Managers and Directors in the Curriculum Services Division and the Assessment, Reporting and ICT Division on matters related to external assessment marking and administration.

• manage and deliver business priorities within designated timelines and using allocated resources.

• lead and participate in teams to develop professional learning and development resources responsive to the needs of Queensland teachers in accordance with current research pertaining to high quality external assessment development and administration.

• lead teams to develop the suite of materials required for external assessment for each General senior syllabus and common internal assessments for Essential Applied senior syllabuses

• design and present training programs, workshops, seminars and support materials for internal QCAA staff and other key stakeholders to support external assessment and associated activities.

• liaise with government and non-government educational organisations on assigned projects.

• create and maintain professional relationships between the QCAA and key stakeholders.

• prepare briefings, correspondence and reports.

• contribute to a change management and performance development culture by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with managers and colleagues, and through the implementation of an individual Performance and Development Plan (PDP).

Reporting relationships

This role reports to the Manager, External Assessment Implementation Unit. No roles report directly to this role.
