What you will do

In the Graphic Designer or Desktop Publisher role, you will:

  • provide high-quality skills in illustration, graphic design, video editing and desktop publishing to support the QCAA in publishing professional content with high levels of consistency and accuracy, in a variety of styles and formats and for a variety of audiences
  • undertake a variety of concurrent projects and tasks at the direction of the Publishing Manager and in collaboration with stakeholders and clients to meet quality, financial and time specifications
  • understand and apply the QCAA style and branding guidelines to ensure quality and consistency across the organisation, using Microsoft products and Adobe Creative Cloud suite in a Windows environment
  • identify the need for templates and develop, edit and maintain them, in collaboration with editors, to suit organisational, project, and stakeholder needs
  • provide regular progress reports to the Manager on allocated work and the completion of work priorities, including the notification and escalation of issues as necessary
  • contribute to the Publishing Unit's development and implementation of efficient workflow and job-tracking practices
  • maintain an awareness of publishing trends, with particular emphasis on best-practice design principles, accessibility and emerging technologies, and the potential impact on the organisation
  • contribute to a performance management and development culture by participating in two-way feedback discussions with the Publishing Manager, as well as undertaking professional development activities as required.

This role reports to the Publishing Manager. No roles report directly to this role.
