QCAA is seeking a Systems Engineer (Windows) to join the ICT Infrastructure Unit. The ICT Infrastructure Unit is responsible for providing specialist support and maintenance of the QCAA’s desktop, server, database, and voice and data network environments.

What you will do
In the Systems Engineer (Windows) role, you will:
- Undertake high-level management and support of the QCAA's Windows based Server/Network environment, including but not limited to:
- User administration
- System installation and configuration
- Storage management
- Security including access management, patching and certificate management
- Performance monitoring, systems optimisation and capacity planning
- Management of system documentation.
- Provide in-depth support for the QCAA's Windows Server based applications such as Exchange, SCCM, SharePoint, SQL Server, and third-party applications such as Symantec Antivirus and Enterprise Vault.
- Administer QCAA's enterprise backup system (Commvault).
- Administer Microsoft SCCM to maintain the desktop and laptop builds, application deployment and operating system, and application updates and patching.
- Administer QCAA's email system, including configuration, migration and integration, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Administer QCAA's Directory Services environment, including GPO management, security and delegation.
- Administer VMWare Server virtualisation infrastructure and hosted servers.
- Administer VMWare View virtual desktop infrastructure and hosted desktops. (This includes making configuration changes and backups, using appropriate tools and technologies to maintain checks on the equipment and the servers looking for unauthorised changes and/or odd and inappropriate behaviour.)
- Evaluate and assess new products and software releases for potential deployment within the QCAA environment.
- In conjunction with your colleagues in the Systems Services team design, develop and propose future system architectures.
