The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Team Leader, Testing to join the ICT Programs. The ICT Programs is responsible for is the design, development, monitoring, enhancement and maintenance of QCAA’s business applications and websites, supporting both internal and external clients. The Team Leader, Testing leads a team of Test Analysts who ensure implementation of quality testing methods to align with best practice ICT testing frameworks which encompasses strategies, policies, processes, templates, tools, and standards. What you will do

In the Team Leader, Testing role, you will:

  • Lead a team of the Test Analysts to support comprehensive testing of applications within required timelines. By managing and co-ordinating the activities of the team to ensure that members are aware of priorities, distributing work evenly and manage peak demand.
  • Supervise and act as a Principal Tester conducting the full range of test writing, testing and defect creation as part of the regular development/testing cycle of agile projects. Including supporting and participating in load, penetration, security, user and other types of testing.
  • Develop, document and manage a detailed and comprehensive Test Strategy for ICT Programs including identifying and implement improvements.
  • Ensure the implementation and reporting of quality testing methods to align with best practice ICT testing methodologies which encompasses strategies, policies, processes, templates, tools, and standards.
  • Provide effective mentoring to staff including assisting with managing staff performance and building team capacity as required.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of testing frameworks and provide sound advice and recommendations on any aspect of test planning and execution. Including using a risk based and requirements-based testing scope to ensure solution is fit for purpose.
  • Work collaboratively with other leaders to estimate the test effort and team (size, skills, availability and schedule).
  • Provide comprehensive monitoring and reporting on projects to ensure effective implementation of project deliverables. Including providing advice to management using logical approaches to solve problems pragmatically and efficiently.

Reporting relationships

This role reports to the Manager, ICT Programs. Three roles report directly to this role
