The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Team Leader to join the People and Culture Unit. The People and Culture Unit is responsible for providing strategic and operational advice and support to QCAA staff across the full range of people management functions. The QCAA engages the Corporate Administration Agency as its payroll service provider and uses the Aurion HR management system. The Team Leader will contribute to and assist with the provision of Human Resources to management and staff at QCAA. Human Resources includes human resource management, industrial/employee relations and occupational health and safety and workforce analytics.

What you will do

In the Team Leader role, you will:
• Lead a small team of Advisors responsible for operational activities, including the provision of advice regarding all staffing movements and accurate payroll, leave and establishment processing by QCAA's payroll provider.
• Implement quality control processes to support data integrity and correct processing of entitlements by CAA.
• Provide advice to managers and employees on entitlements and policies, systems and processes.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all QCAA stakeholders and provide high level advice and services.
• Prepare a range of standard, detailed and ad hoc reports from the Aurion system, manipulate this data in Excel spreadsheets, and undertake necessary actions regarding workforce management.
• Identify, develop and implement new processes and systems to efficiently undertake operational activities, with a focus on data analytics and the use of technology.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge of the legislative and industrial framework within the Queensland public sector, including sector-wide policies and directives.
• Prepare high-quality written documentation such as policy documents, submissions for action, reports, briefing notes and other correspondence.
• Develop and maintain procedure manuals and work instructions on operational processes for the advisor team.

Support the Senior Advisor, Principal Advisor and the Manager in undertaking projects as required.
