Principal Workforce Management Officer

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Principal Workforce Management Officer to join the Program Workforce Unit. The Program Workforce Unit is responsible for managing a range of workforce functions including the casual workforce employed under the QCAA Act to support the activities related to implementation of senior internal and external assessment.

What you will do
In the Principal Workforce Management Officer role, you will:
- Lead and manage the recruitment, coordination and administration of QCAA Assessors, invigilators, subject matter experts and markers involved in Queensland's senior assessment and certification processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of roles and responsibilities, and to promote responsive, client-focused service delivery.
- Lead the development, implementation, and review of policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to recruitment and workforce management
- Provide, strategic advice to Leadership team on policies, procedures, systems, projects and emerging issues to support executive decision-making.
- Lead the preparation of accurate and well-informed briefs, reports, correspondence and submissions, and support the effective resolution of service delivery issues.
- Provide leadership to a small team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture that supports professional development, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Set strategic priorities, manage resource allocation, and oversee performance management processes to support the delivery of high-quality services aligned with organisational goals.

To succeed in this role, you will be a strategic leader with demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale workforce operations, leading teams through change, and delivering high-quality administrative support. You will excel in stakeholder engagement, provide authoritative advice, and drive continuous improvement through effective policy, resource, and performance management.
This role reports to the Manager, Program Workforce Unit. Four positions report directly to this role.
