Test Analyst

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Test Analyst to join the ICT Programs Unit. The ICT Programs Unit is responsible for continuous iteration testing, system testing, manual regression and end-to-end testing, as well as contributing to automated regression, load testing strategies identifying appropriate test data and analysing the business outcomes of the testing conducted. The Test Analyst ensures implementation of quality testing methods to align with best practice ICT testing frameworks which encompasses strategies, policies, processes, templates, tools, and standards.

What you will do
In the Test Analyst role, you will:
- Develop test strategies and test plans for software development and enhancement activities in consultation with other Test Analysts, the Team Leader, development teams and business owners and users.
- Identify needs for test environments and test data.
- Perform system, integration, end-to-end and regression planning, testing and associated activities such as defect logging, prioritisation and management, within established frameworks, strategies, standards, methodologies and policies.
- Perform integration and sanity testing of releases in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production and work closely with business owners and users with UAT and pilot testing activities.
- Log and evaluate testing progress, defects, outcomes risks and issues, and assist with reporting to key stakeholders including governance bodies.
- Liaise, consult and negotiate effectively with team members, other project teams, stakeholders and client groups to develop and maintain effective working relationships and the integrity of the overall integrated solution.
- Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospective sessions, project control team meetings and reviews.
- Review functional and non-functional requirements in an Agile environment, and where exists, in Business Requirement Specifications (BRS), Logical Design, Functional Requirements and technical documents.
- Contribute to the development and preparation of training materials and communications with end-users.
- Undertake other duties as required and as directed by the Team Leader (Testing) to ensure a complete and comprehensive test environment is applied to QCAA applications.
