What you will do
In the Manager, Financial Services role, you will:
• Lead the unit to deliver efficient, high-quality financial and workforce support aligned with the agency's strategic objectives.
• Provide strategic, timely, and authoritative advice on Queensland Government financial management, policies, frameworks, and guidelines.
• Coordinate the annual budget process and mid-year review in collaboration with cost centre and senior managers.
• Oversee financial systems to ensure compliance with legislation and QCAA policies.
• Lead the preparation of annual financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards and government reporting requirements.
• Deliver financial reporting requirements for the State Budget, including Service Delivery Statements and ministerial briefings.
• Maintain contemporary knowledge of accounting developments and priorities across the public sector and conduct necessary research to address and resolve accounting issues that emerge.
• Foster strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and promote a culture of performance, feedback, and continuous improvement.

A tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting and membership of CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, would be considered highly desirable.
