About You
The Project Manager will oversee the planning and co-ordination for critical projects. With strong organisational skills and attention to detail, you will leverage your project management expertise to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives within agreed timelines and resources. The ideal candidate will be a practical, solution-focused professional with exceptional communication abilities and a proactive, adaptive approach.
What You will do
The Project Manager, Storage Management will apply demonstrated project management skills to:
- Develop and maintain project documentation including project plans, timelines, work packages, risk registers, status reports, and minutes in accordance with agreed templates and document management systems.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities, motivate project team members, monitor and report on progress and escalate issues to the Project Board in accordance with agreed tolerances.
- Manage the project budget, procure and allocate resources, monitor expenditure and report variances.
- Establish quality standards and ensure they are met throughout the project. Coordinate quality assurance reviews and make recommendations for corrective actions to address quality issues.
- Under direction of the Project Board, identify potential risks; develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans; monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as the main point of contact for project stakeholders. Communicate project status, and issues to stakeholders regularly.
- Provide advice to Heads, Biodiversity and Geosciences, and Program, Cultures and Histories - Collections Research and Exhibitions, for the implementation of agreed projects. This includes preparing policies, procedures, submissions, briefing notes, proposals, and other correspondence.
- Work collaboratively with the Director Infrastructure and Strategic Asset Management to maintain business continuity and implement best practices by providing timely updates and insights on Infrastructure projects and contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of site management.
- Champion organisational purpose, values and strategic priorities and provide timely, accurate and high-quality advice to the Director Infrastructure and Strategic Asset Management as required.
- Maintain a strong control environment within the team through compliance with QM values, policies, procedures and legislation.
- Contribute to the safety culture of QM by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all QM WHS policies and/or procedures and guidelines relevant to the job.
